George Washington Creef Park

George Washington Creef Memorial Park is a scenic waterfront park named in honor of George Washington Creef, inventor of the North Carolina State Boat, the iconic Shad Boat. Located on the site of Creef’s former boathouse, the park offers beautiful harbor views, open green space, and a peaceful setting in the heart of downtown Manteo. Home to the downtown boardwalk and the Roanoke Island Maritime Museum, the park celebrates the area’s rich maritime heritage while providing a welcoming place for picnics, fishing, birdwatching, and relaxing by the water.
